Some useful information is contained within a *black A4 folder in the Clubhouse loft. It is on the filing cabinets and its contents are listed below (noting the * for those physical items it still contains) as some other information has also been added to this page:
*User Guide to the Myson Slimline heater (in the ladies near the showers), plus
*User Guide to the Salus iT500 Internet Thermostate (in the main hall). See also: https://saluscontrols.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/iT500-Manual.pdf
The thermostat can be controlled manually (press on to wake it up, select up or down to select the temperature and then confirm with the 'tick' button.
It is also controlled over the internet using the iT500 App. Details of this are in the Committees Google Drive - 'Master' spreadsheet, with control via the installer (Ashley - A J Green Plumbing Services Ltd, 01737 550489, 07973239284, ashley@ajgreenplumbing.com), Matt Kirk and the Commodore@cmyc.co.uk email account. There may be others but Adrian Fisher has relinquished his. Information as of early 2024.
Gate codes are normally changed by Tuesday Volunteer Group on first Tuesday in April, after renewal period closes. There is a reminder in the Committee's Annual Calendar (spreadsheet) for March.

Repair kit - a tube of glue and some patches*
The *folder was set out with the following sections but they are all empty:
Gas supply
Electrical supply
Sewage
Rubbish
Cleaning
General Maintenance
Toyota Rav4
The manual for these is included in the Committee Google Drive (actual location TBD when this note was added), but is also available via the internet. Key points in brief:
Sterilization indicator light
When this light is on the UV lamps within the dryer come on for one hour. (On first power up the lamps will come on for 1 hour, then once every day for an hour). When the light goes out the sterilization work has ended.
If the lamp does not come on. The UV emission PCB will need to be checked. Switch off power supply and contact a service engineer.
Self-check indicator
When a malfunction or error occurs, the self-check indicator located on the top of the dryer “check” will either light up or flash. Turn off the power switch, wait about 40 seconds until all the indicators go off, and then turn the dryer back on. If the indicator still lights up or flashes, turn off the unit, Isolate the dryer from the mains supply and contact a service engineer.
Routine Maintenance
Warning: Isolate from power supply & wear suitable gloves for cleaning.
Drain and clean the drain tank (located at bottom of the unit behind a front cover) and,
Clean the air filter (located underneath) by using a vacuum cleaner to remove any dirt from the filter and if very dirty, wash it carefully in cold or warm water. Allow the filter to dry and replace.
Turn on and check the UV sterilization system is working.
How long does the Sport England sign / plaque (inside the hall and on the rear of the Clubhouse) needed to be displayed? MT had no recollection of this being stated and cannot see any reference in the e-files he has.
At the end of 2018, the concept of converting/adapting the Clubhouse loft to create a training space had been on the agenda for quite some time. There was concern that access to the loft via the ladder was dangerous and a staircase was needed.
John C., led on investigating the options and he noted that:
the floor was never designed for a lot of weight and there already was some distortion/bending evident in some roof joists that needed remedial work and which probably ruled out the possibility of extra weight up there. (Alan T., 'may' have fixed/strengthened the joists by use of acrows and some ironmongery). The apparent root cause of the problem was addressed later in 2019 when the two 300 litre electric hot water cylinders were removed when the LPG system was installed
planning permission was a bit of a grey area - was it a loft conversion or wasn't it? If it was, then full plans, engineers structural survey, architects drawings, building control approval are needed etc., etc. This was enough to dissuade many from backing the idea.
access would need to be via an outside staircase. Metal would need planning permission whereas a wooden one on wheels would avoid the need for planning as it would be moveable. The wooden one was deemed to be a bit of a non-starter and we decided to address the reasons why people were going into the loft. (See below)
it was also noted that the potential use of mobile screens that could be wheeled about to create a "training room", could cause safeguarding issues.
John's recommendation was that the whole idea was too expensive for relatively little gain. He suggested a marquee that could be taken down when not in use.
About the same time, the incoming Committee produced a list of Capital Expenditure ideas and then went through and voted into place a priority list. The loft didn't really feature but we decided to reduce the need to access the loft by installing additional shelving in one of the shipping containers so that frequently used items stored in the loft could be stored in the containers. This significantly reduced the need to get into the loft and effectively helped eliminate the case for a staircase.
The concept of having a training room did gain some traction. A bus was suggested but not taken seriously, and the RYA suggestion that a boat shed be kitted out for training when the boat wasn't in it was rejected by the Training Sub-committee.
The idea that the shipping containers were replaced with a proper steel storage unit that included a training room came forward. This failed to get any wider support due to training taking place away from the clubhouse raising safeguarding issues.
